| Indoor tanning lotions are
necessary to your tanning regimen in order to maximize results and
advocate responsible tanning. You must recognize the
importance of lotion and the reasons why it is so beneficial to the
tanning process. REASONS FOR LOTION: * Clean, moist skin tans better * Lotions offer better magnification to maximize results * Moisturized skin absorbs UV light; dry skin reflects it * Can achieve up to 70% better results tanning with a lotion than without * Indoor tanning can be dehydrating to the skin; lotions will help replenish any moisturization that has been depleted during the tanning session
THE DIFFERENT "TYPES" OF LOTION Accelerators: * help the skin "naturally" achieve deep, dark-tanning results * usually white in color, but may be available in other colors as well Bronzers: * enhance tanning results by imparting additional color to the skin via immediate cosmetic bronzers and sunless tanning agents * utilizes DHA (dihydroxyacetone), a self-tanning agent, walnut extract, caramel, carrot oil, etc. as the bronzing agents *usually caramel in color Tingles * increase the micro-circulation and oxygenation of the skin resulting in deeper, darker tanning results * has a "warming" and "reddening" effect on the skin * recommended for advanced tanners * beneficial to areas of the body that do not retain color such as women's legs due to frequent shaving and exfoliation * active tingle ingredient is benzyl nicotinate * color varies due to lotion type (i.e., bronzer) or colorants used Coolants: * active cooling ingredients are menthyl lactate and/or cooling agent * bathes your skin in refreshing and cooling essence, enhancing the tanning session * color varies due to lotion type (i.e., bronzer) or colorants used
